I know this is not related but got a chance to organize my fishing gear today! It's awesome outside! But spring is almost here and work is starting to pick up!

Bad weather!

Pretty bad weather in the Memphis area! Typical for the time of year! Lots of tornadic activity and straight line winds. If you're not from memphis, they will show wall to wall weather coverage on the tv. Sorry, but welcome to Memphis.

Rain!

Today it's raining which often produces drainage problems. French drains are a great way to dissipate water after the rain has passed. It's a simple process. You can buy 4" perforated drain pipe at lowe's or home depot, and the gravel usually can be bought where you buy mulch. Take a look at my picture of a French drain to see

All you need to do is dig a 6" wide x 8" deep trench in the part of your yard where the water is standing place the pipe in the ditch making sure it has a place to drain to and then cover with medium gravel. Then lay your grass ( only about 1") on topof the gravel to hide your work.

Equipment

As a landscaper, I'm always breaking equipment, whether it's a truck, trailer, or something simple like a weadeater or a blower. Tomorrow I will attempt to diagnose a problem with a 2006 international CF500 diesel. It seems as though one of the trucks that I have will start in the morning but fails to start again after it warms up. I think it may be something with the oil pressure. We'll see!

Questions?

If you have any landscape questions please ask! I will help you the best I can!

Concrete

Today I poured an extension of a driveway with a washed pea gravel finish. Pretty easy job but looking forward to tomorrow to see the finished product! Will try to post some pics.
Welcome to my blog! I'm just getting started but hope to have some useful landscaping tips and pics in the near future!
